چکیده

Mango can be grown in subtropical and semi-arid regions, where using commercial cultivars rootstocks with improved resistance to drought is crucial. Induction of polyploidy has been widely applied breeding programs for increasing crop resistance. In this study, several mango their respective autotetraploids was evaluated. Leaf morphology physiology were monitored two-year-old plants during a period water withholding subsequent rewatering. Even though all tetraploid presented morphological differences leaf traits, the effect ploidy delaying loss its detrimental effects photosynthesis only observed ‘Gomera-1’. As result this, cultivar sustained maximum levels quantum efficiency gas exchange longer than rest cultivars. Therefore, isohydric strategy not associated earlier stomatal closure. Proline did increase probably due maintenance high relative content. contrast, some anisohydric mangos, proline increased when content decreased below 80%. Some diploids exhibited higher tetraploids, but recovery plant functionality after rewatering differ from We conclude that by polyploids water-saving physiological traits.

Mangifera indica L. leaf extract alleviates doxorubicin induced cardiac stress

AIM The study was undertaken to evaluate the cardioprotective effect of the alcoholic leaf extract of Mangifera indica L. against cardiac stress caused by doxorubicin (DOX). MATERIALS AND METHODS Rats were treated with 100 mg/kg of M. indica leaf extract (MILE) in alone and interactive groups for 21 days. Apart from the normal and MILE control groups, all the groups were subjected to DOX (15 ...

Evaluation of Drought Tolerance in Safflower (Carthamus Tinctorius L.)Under non Stress and Drought Stress Conditions

This study was conducted to determine drought tolerance genotypes with superiority in different stressed environments. To screening quantitative indices of drought tolerance, genotypes of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) were tested in a complete randomized block design with three replications under two different water regimes (irrigated and rainfed). Significant positive correlatio...

Assessment of Anxiolytic Activity of Aqueous Extract of Mangifera Indica L. Leaves in Rodents Exposed to Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress

The purpose of this study was to characterize the anxiolytic activity of an Aqueous extract prepared from the leaves of Mangifera indica L (AEMI) using an elevated plus maze (EPM) model in rat and staircase model in mice. In elevated plus maze (EPM) model, At dose of Mangifera indica (250mg/kg and 500mg/kg) treated group showed significant increase in the % time spent in open arm and no. of ent...

Microwave Assisted Extraction of Mangiferin from Mangifera Indica L

The aim of this work is to compare the extraction efficiencies of microwave and conventional isolation of mangiferin from Mangifera indica L. The parameters studied, which might affect the extraction efficiency were extraction time, solvent composition and microwave power. The conventional heating 21 h provided 5.23 % yield of mangiferin and by microwave heating at 210 W for 56 min, the yield w...
